Hello everyone. I'm Jerry Ruth, the reading teacher / EL guy at West Wendover High School. I also serve as adjunct faculty for Great Basin College and Azusa Pacific University, where I teach TESOL - related courses for aspiring teachers. I'm bilingual myself, and have an MA in TESOL and a PhD in Intercultural Education, so I'm passionate about what we do in the TESOL community and am proud to be a member of NV TESOL!

Jerry, nice to see you here! 😊
Nice to meet you, Jerry! As someone who also has interest in intercultural communication, I'd like to know if you would consider a virtual exchange with your students and university ELLs in Japan?
Jerry! Good to see you here! Have you been in contact with Maria Ortega? She wants to start the Northern NVTESOL Chapter! Perhaps you could both collaborate!
我也可以说中文,我在国防语言学院就读。I have the same motivation for working with ELs and I really want dual immersion programs so that more students can learn foreign languages. I have taught in Suzhou, China and traveled around the country a bit and I can't wait to go back!
Hi Jerry! Its great to have someone with your experience and background in the forums. You'll be a great mentor to us who are still learning best practices in the classroom. What is your second language?
Nice to meet you! Intercultural Education sounds so interesting, I have so much more to learn about the field of education.
