Empower Nevada's Educators & Multilingual Leaners

Our mission is to foster a collaborative space where educators, researchers, and stakeholders can share ideas, exchange resources, and support Nevada’s multilingual learners and all students. We strive to provide both new and experienced teachers with opportunities to work together to design effective, student-centered lessons. NVTESOL is dedicated to serving as a central resource hub for educators of English learners throughout Nevada’s schools.

Fall 2026 Leadership Elections

Help shape the future of multilingual education in Nevada! NVTESOL is accepting nominations for key Executive Board officers and Committee Leadership roles for our upcoming term. Serving in leadership provides a meaningful platform to advocate for emergent bilingual students, drive statewide professional learning, and collaborate with educators across school districts, universities, and community organizations.

​​Active Membership Requirement
​

To be eligible for nomination, election, or appointment, all candidates must maintain an active, paid NVTESOL membership.

​

  • Leadership Perk: In appreciation of your service, elected Board Members and Committee Leads receive a 100% complimentary membership during their term of service!

 

Open Positions for Election

​

President (2-Year Term): Serves as executive operational lead, meeting chair, and official statewide spokesperson for NVTESOL.

​

Vice President (2-Year Term): Assists the President with organizational operations, leads member growth initiatives, and presides in the President's absence.

​

Secretary (1 to 2-Year Term): Records official meeting minutes, prepares meeting agendas, distributes notices, and manages official correspondence.

​

Conference Chair (1-Year Term): Directs the planning, vendor management, programming, and execution of NVTESOL’s statewide conference.

​

K-12 Education Chair (1-Year Term): Serves as the primary liaison for K-12 teachers, EL specialists, and district leaders across Nevada school districts.

​

Higher Education Chair (1-Year Term): Serves as liaison for higher education faculty, researchers, and pre-service educator pipelines across colleges and universities.

Voting Period: Mid-November 2026 (digital ballots sent to active members)

 

Election Results: Announced late November 2026

  • Membership Development — Focuses on member recruitment, clarifying membership tier benefits, district outreach, and member retention.

  • Professional Development — Coordinates monthly strategy updates, virtual webinars, in-person workshops, and digital lesson repositories.

  • Communications & Archives — Manages newsletters, social media, website maintenance, and preserves organizational history.

  • Collaboration & Networking — Organizes informal virtual sessions, speaker events, and networking mixers.

  • Bi-Annual Conference — Directs overall planning, session selection, venue logistics, and marketing for our statewide conference.

 

Expanded Statewide Impact

NVTESOL actively collaborates with NVSABE (Nevada’s brand-new chapter of the National Association for Bilingual Education) to build a unified advocacy network for multilingual learners and dual-language educators across the state.
