Leadership Roles & Responsibilities
Executive Board

President: Leads organizational vision, presides over official meetings, appoints committees, and oversees statewide operations.

Vice President: Assists the President with operational leadership and supports statewide membership growth and engagement.

Secretary: Maintains meeting minutes, prepares agendas, and manages official organizational communications.

Treasurer: Manages financial accounts, oversees budgeting, and maintains fiscal transparency for NVTESOL.

Delegates-at-Large: Build community relationships with partner organizations and advocate for educator needs across Nevada.
Standing Committee Chairs

Membership Chair: Guides member recruitment, onboarding, and engagement strategies across Nevada school districts and institutions.

Professional Development Chair: Directs virtual and in-person professional learning events, webinars, workshops, and classroom resource sharing.

Conference Chair: Oversees the planning and execution of NVTESOL’s bi-annual state conference, including keynote speakers, session proposals, and venue logistics.

Communications & Archives Chair: Directs NVTESOL’s digital channels, including semester newsletters, website updates, and social media platforms.

Collaboration & Networking Chair: Creates opportunities for educators to connect outside formal PD through networking mixers, virtual "Coffee & Collaborate" sessions, and Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
Sector Liaisons

K-12 Education Chair: Connects K-12 teachers, ELD specialists, and district leaders to align NVTESOL resources with classroom needs.

Higher Education Chair: Connects university and college faculty, researchers, and pre-service educator programs across Nevada.

NDE Representative: Serves as the primary liaison between NVTESOL and the Nevada Department of Education.
Board Meetings
The NVTESOL Executive Board and Committee Leads meet monthly on the 2nd Monday of each month at 4:30 PM PST. Meetings are held virtually to allow equal representation and participation from educators in Clark County, Washoe County, and rural districts throughout Nevada.
