As a member of the Refugee Concerns Interest Section (RCIS) with TESOL International, I receive emails when new information is shared. The Interest Section has begun interviewing its members to gain a better understanding of refugees and try to connect people who might have similar interests. This is an interview with RCIS member, Bashar Al Hariri. He talks about his work at US Together in Toledo, where he started as a volunteer, and now wears many hats in helping refugees resettle. That sounds like my years in the classroom! I loved working with my students on learning English and they taught me how to speak Spanish. Those were the best years!
